Our most abundant tree. They are fast growing
trees that can reach 60 feet. They have short, soft blue-green needles and grow
best in moist, well drained soil. They do not do well in heavy, wet, clay soil.
Douglas Fir are the largest timber producing tree in North America. They are a
popular Christmas tree because of its color, symmetrical form and needle
retention.
